Ward's students have ranged from 3 former U.S. Presidents to PGA, LPGA, Nike, and European Tour players, as well as numerous celebrities from the world of pro-sports such as NBA, NFL, NHL, Major League Baseball, and professional tennis players, and actors and actresses from a variety of TV shows and movies. Ward's greatest strengths are encompassed in his passion for developing an excellent junior program, and his work with the physically challenged. Tom Ward has set 16 course records in his golfing career which was cut short due to rotator cuff surgery, however in 1981 he tied a world's record by shooting a "57" on a par 70 course. That 13 under par score made the Guinness Book of World Record's (for a score on a regulation course of 6,000 yards) which used to be the standard. The criteria has been changed recently to over 6,500 yards, yet Tom's record tying performance was in the world record book for over 10 years.
