An experienced club fitter and custom club manufacturer, Mardell owns her own company, IGC Golf Clubs.  For over ten years she has been actively involved, and even donates club heads to the LPGA Urban Junior Golf Program.

Mardell is currently instructing members of the Saddleback Junior College Women's Golf Team, and was instrumental in the planning and design of the 1998 Mission Viejo Country Club Junior Golf Program, which consists of a five-week intensified program.  She has taught many notable students, which have included club champions from Mission Viejo, Mesa Verde, El Niguel, Alta Vista, Tijeras Creek, and Marbella Country Clubs.  She instructed the 1987 WSCGA Southern Match Play Champion, and runner-up in the 1993 California State Women's Senior Championship. Mardell instructed in the initial year of the LPGA/AAF Junior Golf Program for underprivileged and minorities, and assisted in teaching the Special Olympic golfers at the City of Irvine Golfer's with Disabilities Lesson Day.  These were clinics instituted by John Kline, a PGA instructor who specializes primarily in teaching the disabled.

As a regular participant in charity fundraising activities for battered women and children, Mardell still finds time to volunteer several times a year to Big Brother/Big Sisters, the American Cancer Society, Sheepfold Women's Shelter, and the Make A Wish Foundation.
