"More Distance Off the Tee"
Traveling the country and
performing exhibitions, I get a chance to view many amateur golfers in action, I am always
asked "what can I do to get more distance off the tee?" One problem I see often,
is that they have the ball teed in the middle of their stance, which causes a player to
hit "down" on the ball usually resulting in a high ball to the right with
backspin or sidespin and therefore not getting any roll. You must remember it's not where
the ball lands, it's where it comes to rest, so tee the ball off the arch of the foot that
is closest to the target (the left foot for a right handed player and the right foot for a
left handed player). This will allow you to hit "up" on the ball creating
topspin which will result in more roll, and remember, if you're not playing a Triton golf
ball you should be!
