"Uneven Lies"

The most common mistake made when hitting from an uphill or downhill lie, is in the position of the players shoulders and golf ball.  The shoulders need to be set to the slope of the hill.   The ball, when hitting from a downhill lie, needs to be played in the back of the stance, and when hitting from an uphill lie, should be played forward in the stance.

Making these two adjustments will create a better ball flight.  Another hint for hitting off of downhill lies would be to open the face of the club, because the clubface will have a tendency to close at impact.  When hitting from uphill lies, use more club to compensate for the added loft created by the angle of the hill.

With practice, these shots will become much easier.  Remember golf is a game, have fun!
