GOLF TIP
by Kay McMahonTo fit or not to fit, that always seems to be the question. But why does it always seem to be the last question asked? Not only should it be the first question asked, but it is also the answer!
BE FIT! GET FIT! STAY FIT! How ironic that this theme for the 90's could ring so true in the game of golf. Being fit....fit for the right clubs, makes my job (teaching), and your game (playing) much easier.
Properly fit clubs help shape a newly developing swing. Would you ever consider learning to walk with the wrong size shoes? No, or you would acquire an awkward, uncoordinated, self conscious stride, not to mention sore feet. So why would we ever question the validity to the benefits of club fitting?
Of course, there is the usual response, "I can't afford good clubs, until I learn to play." Learning to play with the right fitting clubs need not be a costly affair. Being professionally fit may even save yourself money and afford you a more enjoyable round of golf. I recommend being fit with Lange Clubs as one of the easiest and most affordable ways to get your game into shape. Instruction goes only as far as the right equipment allows.
What do I tell my students? Shape your swing the right way. Be fit the professional way. Length, size, flex, and lie angle are easy ways to keep your swing fit, in shape, and well conditioned. Shape your game around the right fit!
You make the call. To fit or not to fit...need we question? The only answer...Be Fit! Stay Fit!
