
Patti Benson, LPGA Golf Professional

A golf professional, that started playing golf at the age of two, Patti Benson has come a long way. She is co-owner of the Bobby & Patti Benson Golf Shop at the Palm Beach Country Club, and serving her second term as the Southeast Section President of the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Division.
Patti's parents, Bob & Betty Prentiss, golf professionals themselves, were instrumental in her early golf development. So much so, that Patti attended Palm Beach Junior College on a 2-year golf scholarship. Graduating with an AA Degree in Public Relations, Patti went on to play on the Futures Tour from 1979 to 1982. She also qualified for the LPGA Championship at Kings Island, OH in June 1981.
Joining the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Division in 1979, Pattis career involved both playing and teaching. She involved herself in the Southeast Section by holding such positions as Area Representative Coordinator, Test Site Coordinator, Evaluator and Member Advisor. Attaining Class A status in June 1983, Patti was elected as President of the Southeast Section in 1997, after serving as Vice President for one term.
Patti was voted the LPGA Southeast Section Golf Professional of the Year in 1997, in addition she has co-chaired the LPGA National Centralized Test Site Guidelines and Procedures Committee, and the LPGA T&CP Practical Teaching Evaluation parameters for 1998.
