Betsy Cullen: LPGA Master Professional
A long-time student of the late Harvey Penick and three-time winner on the LPGA Tour, Betsy Cullen has been teaching golf for over 20 years. She had a very successful junior golf and amateur golf career prior to getting her education at the University of Oklahoma. After 15 years on the LPGA Tour, Betsy began her remarkable teaching career. Betsy has taught at Baltusrol Golf Club (NJ), Pine Tree Golf Club (FL), Whitford Country Club (PA), Sweetwater Country Club (TX), Houston Country Club (TX), Columbia Lakes Country Club (TX), Old Orchard Golf Club (TX), and now at Pine Forest Country Club in Houston, TX.
She authored and produced the nationally acclaimed golf instructional video "Hit it Farther with Betsy Cullen" and was a featured speaker at the PGA Summit and LPGA National Seminar. She wrote a weekly golf column for the Houston Post and appeared in Golf World, GolfWeek, Golf Digest, and Sports Illustrated magazines. Named the Director of Instruction for the Japanese corporate sponsored "Superlady" project/Kathy Whitworth Golf Academy, Betsy helped two of the young Japanese participants qualify for the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour.
Betsy has achieved Master Life Professional status, the highest honor in the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Division. She is a two-time LPGA Central Section Teacher of the Year, an honor bestowed on her from her LPGA colleagues. She is one of GOLF Magazine’s Top Teachers and a Golf For Women Magazine “Top 50” Teacher. Continually learning, Betsy also is studying with PGA Long Drive Champion and kinesiologist, Mike Austin of Los Angeles, CA.
Betsy teaches men, women, senior and junior golfers of all skill levels individually and in groups. She does clubfitting with the Henry Griffitts Fitting System, peak performance training using Dr. Deborah Graham's GOLFPSYCH program, and multi-faceted programming in health/fitness as part of her Balanced Golf Program.
