Pat Dolan, Golf Professional

A golf professional who specialized in teaching for over 42 years, the late Pat Dolan taught golf at such distinguished golf clubs as The Colonial Country Club in Ft. Worth, The Salt Lake Country Club in Utah, and The Palm Springs Country Club in California.  Golfers Lee Trevino, Sandra Palmer, Carlynne Whitworth, and Gen. James Wilson (the only golfer to make Golf Digest's Top Ten list of the best senior amateur golfers in the world on two occasions, 11 years apart, a golf feat that may never be equaled) all sought his advice before they became famous.  Pat served as Head Professional at the Municipal Golf Course in Russell, Kansas (hometown of Bob Dole) and The Jal Country Club in Jal, New Mexico (hometown of Kathy Whitworth).

Author of two golf books, The Worlds Greatest Golf Teacher © 1994and How to Turn Bogey's into Birdies © 1988.  Dolan also authored two newspaper golf columns and an affordable golf advice letter Golfers Improving Easily and Affordably.© 1998, guaranteed to instantly improve any golfers game.

Dolan's business career included consulting to many course owners throughout the US, as well as companies such as The Tony Llama Boot Company, The Braille Institute, and the John Riley Golf Company.  He was instrumental in designing the Sure Out wedge from the Ben Hogan club line.  This club became the biggest single seller in their line of golf clubs.

The opinion that "those who can---do and those who can't---teach," is strongly opposed by Pat.  His background illustrated that raising 5 children did not allow him to test the TOUR, even though he was very good.  "I know of no great teacher who was not also a damn good player," claims Dolan.  In his playing career he won a number of professional tournaments and set 7 course records. Pat's teaching technique simply encouraged golfers to search their own experiences in order to "find out how."  He used his expertise and sense of humor to offer advice and answer questions on any golf problem one might have.
