The idea of creating a private area for students fulfilled a long time dream of owner and Head Professional Jan Johnson. Playing the game of golf for over 30 years, Jan won the Kentucky State High School Championship in 1969, and was twice runner-up in the Women's Kentucky State Amateur. Her professional playing career includes qualifying for and competing in the 1980 and 1983 U.S. Women's Open, and winning the LPGA T&CP Section Championship in 1981 and 1985.

Jan has been a Class A member of the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Division (T&CP) and the PGA of America for over 15 years. She was voted LPGA T&CP Southeast Section Professional of the Year in 1991. Along with serving a term as Vice President of the Southeast Section of the LPGA (T&CP), she has been as Area Representative, guest speaker/instructor at the 1995 LPGA T&CP Southeast Section Annual Seminar, and former chairman of the North Florida PGA Scholarship committee.

Having had the opportunity to work with, observe and gain personal instruction from some of  the world's most notable teachers, among them Rina Ritson, Phil Rogers, Fred Griffin, Ralph Mann, Craig Shankland, Conard Rehling, DeDe Owens, Lou Smithers II, Chuck Cook, Kent Cayce, and Mike Calbot, Jan has developed a well-rounded approach to teaching individuals to learn using your given abilities and talents.

At the Golden Run Ranch, a private golf learning center, Jan makes learning the game of golf a truly one-on-one experience. It is here that the building blocks of instruction are established, demonstrated and explained. "Learning golf provides challenge to the mind and body with the opportunity to learn both mental and physical skills, claims Jan.
