Not your typical pro, Patty Largent never played the game until she was 35.  Coming from what she calls "a sports minded family", she turned to golf as a low-key form of exercise that wouldn't aggravate her condition, after recovering from a long illness. Golf not only filled the bill for her, it became her vocation.

She learned the game at Royal Vista Golf Course, in San Ramon, CA. Entering the LPGA program in 1988, she eventually became Assistant Manager, Pro Shop Manager, and then Head Professional.  Patty received her Class A certification as a member of the LPGA Teaching & Club Professional Division in 1993. 

A big proponent of education, Patty feels certification is only the beginning of a teacher's education.  She has served as LPGA T&CP Division Member Evaluator, Area Representative, and Member Advisor. She hosted a number of Class A/B test sites, served as the Rules Chairperson at the 1997 Western Section Championship, and in April of 1998 hosted the Top-Flite/Etonic LPGA Western Section Championship at Chardonnay Golf Club. Twice nominated by her peers as LPGA Professional of the Year, Patty's involvement in the LPGA and to the golfing community is endless.

Since 1992, Patty has volunteered as an instructor at a number of women's clinics, including the Soroptimist Women's Golf Clinic in Carmel, CA, and the nationally recognized Gillette LPGA Golf Clinics for Women. In addition, she has annually conducted Junior Golf clinics for the Cities of Dublin, San Ramon, Modesto and at the Chardonnay Golf Club in Napa. In the spring of 1998, Patty was instrumental in spearheading the re-instituting of the Chardonnay Golf Club Women's Clinic. 

"I've never met a person who couldn't really learn if they are taught the right way," says Patty.  "What everyone has to realize, is that we are all individuals."
