Tom Losinger, PGA Master Professional

2001 Georgia PGA Teacher of the Year, Tom Losinger is one of 200 PGA members to have achieved the Master Professional status.  This coveted status is bestowed upon a PGA professional who has been an active member for a minimum of twelve years (of which six years must be as a head professional) and who has completed a master thesis project on a specifically approved area of study relating to the profession of golf.  Tom's thesis was entitled "My Approach to Teaching and Learning Golf."

Tom played golf for Brevard Community College from 1974-76 and was a member of the National Junior College Championship Team in 1976.  From 1976-78, Tom played for Southeastern Louisiana University where the team finished seventh in the nation in 1977, tenth in 1978, and were conference champions in 1978.  Tom was All Gulf South Conference and All American in 1978.  He graduated from SLU in 1978 receiving his degree in Business Administration. He was the 1986 winner of the Georgia Assistant Professional Championship, and also a member of five PGA Challenge Cup Teams.

His career includes serving as an assistant professional at Lakewood Country Club in Westlake, OH,  Cherokee Town & Country Club, and Atlanta National Golf Club in Atlanta, GA.  He was the Head Professional at Settindown Creek Golf Club in Roswell, GA. Currently he is the Director of Instruction at the BridgeMill Athletic Club, where he has designed a state-of-the-art  learning center.

For the past three years, Tom has participated in the bi-annual USA/PGA Teaching Summit Golf Hotline and coordinated teachers for the World Golf Expo.  This yearly golf show in Atlanta exhibits equipment, courses and travel information, as well as providing free instruction to people attending.
