Kevin Macmanus, Golf Instructor
Anchorland Range - East Hanover, New Jersey

Welcome to Personal Golf, located at the Anchorland Range and Pitching Course in East Hanover, New Jersey about 40 minutes from New York City with all that city has to offer. Our schools include the full swing, the stroke saver program and our power school.

Personal Golf is an alternative for successful people and their families whose busy schedules preclude traditional training locations. The unique feature of Personal Golf is that you decide where you would like to take your lesson. Given today's portable training aids, instruction is now possible in most homes, offices and other locations.

While we proceed at a pace that is comfortable for each individual student, each Personal Golf program is designed to be covered in ten one-hour lessons at a convenient location of your choice. While there is some flexibility, ideally the student will complete the initial program in approximately three to five days. Frequent instruction improves muscular and mental retention and is a key to efficient learning.

Additionally, we advocate drills between lessons rather than unsupervised hitting of buckets and buckets of balls. That usually creates bad habits that have to be eliminated before we can proceed. Importantly, most drills can be done in the office or at home, which permits convenient, efficient, reinforcement after the program is complete and in the off-season if you live in snow country.

Objectives:

Plan:

A series of one-on-one, private lessons tailored to your ability, lifestyle, and schedule.

Benefits:

Most of our instruction is given in East Hanover, New Jersey about 30 minutes from Newark Airport and 40 minutes from Broadway and all that New York City has to offer. There are several reasonable hotels within a mile of the range including Marriott Courtyard, Ramada and Homestead Inns, and their rates are significantly less than those in the city. There is nothing like golf instruction during the day and the theatre, pro sports and fine restaurants in the evening.

Personal Golf is also available off site as an alternative for people whose busy schedules preclude traditional training locations. The unique feature of Personal Golf is that you decide where you would like to take your lesson. Given today’s portable training aids, instruction is now possible in most homes, offices and other locations. I am personally available to teach anywhere in the world depending on a student’s need and resources.

The Stroke Saver Program is available for those who would like to improve their short game or those who are having difficulty taking their driving range swings to the golf course. This program also includes sand play, abnormal lies, high and low shots, fades, draws, etc. The Full Swing Program includes a clinic, short, medium and long irons as well as the driver and fairway woods. That program is also designed to be completed in ten sessions, and includes the correct grip, alignment, posture, stance, ball position, and weight distribution.

Each position of the swing is explained and demonstrated using sophisticated training aids and drills which teach the proper feel, balance and motion of the golf swing. Specific details can also be found at personalgolf.net. You will also notice at the web site that the original objective of Personal Golf was to provide private golf instruction anywhere in the world. Personal Golf still provides that service for anyone that requires that convenience and efficiency.

As discussed, both the fundamental swing program and the stroke saver program can be completed in three to five days depending on the student’s objectives. Since the tuition is on a per session basis the tuition for five days is the same as for three or four but provides more time to enjoy the city and surrounding area. Half day (three lessons) and full day (five lessons) programs are also available and can be tailored to specific student needs. For example, putting, chipping, pitch and runs in the morning and two levered pitches and distance control in the afternoon.
