A former All-American from Arizona State University, Cathy Mant has a strong background both as a player and an instructor.  In 1970, Cathy was the winner of the Women's NCAA Championship, along with several other tournaments while attending Arizona State.  She was a three-time Oregon Women's Amateur Champion, and in 1976, joined the LPGA Tour where she played for ten years.

In 1989, Cathy was inducted into the National Golf Coaches Hall of Fame.  Since that time she has been devoted to full time teaching.  She began at Waikoloa Village and then Hawaii Kai Golf Club in Hawaii. After teaching at the Oregon Golf Club outside of Portland, and the Family Golf Center in Ft. Worth, TX, Cathy is now at Eagles Landing in Stockbridge (GA), the home of the LPGA Chick-fil-A Charity Championship.  During these years of teaching, Cathy was "very fortunate to have had the opportunity to help a number of talented junior golfers."  She gained the reputation as a dedicated instructor of junior golf as evidenced by the success of her junior students. She is now a U.S.G.A. Junior Girls Committee Member from Georgia.

Cathy has coached Anna Umemura, USGA Junior Championship semi-finalist; Nicole Horner, current Players West mini tour player; Jenny Lee, winner of the 1996 Trans Women's National; and collegian's playing on scholarships, Jill Hamasaki from Southern California, Summerset Lovett from Ohio State, Kimi Cunningham from the University of Oregon, and Sarah Dahm from Oregon State. Cathy worked with Grace Park for two years before she moved to Arizona. Grace was an NCAA amateur and winner of the 94th US Women's Amateur Championship

As a Class A Member of the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Division, Cathy is serving as a member of the National Evaluators Committee, a committee formed to offer "leading edge" education for LPGA teacher certification, combining a hands-on research based theory with interactive educational experiences.  She has also served as a Member Advisor.  In addition, Cathy was President of the LPGA Tour Division in 1985 and was a member of the Board of Directors as Player Director.  She has been a representative to the USGA Junior Girls' Committee since 1989.  She annually attends the National Championship as a rules official.  Cathy is a member of the Titleist and Foot-Joy Worldwide Women's Advisory Board.
