With over 20 years' experience teaching golfers of all levels,
Diane McHeffey possesses a keen eye for the golf swing and the ability to communicate in a way that lets a
student know in the first few moments of a lesson that they are in the hands of a
great teacher.
Director of Golf at the Double Tee Golf Center, which she designed and constructed, Diane's achievements in junior, senior, women's and men's golf include: creating the first non-profit Western North Carolina Junior Golf Association, developing an exercise program to complement "Senior Swing Therapy" clinics for victims of strokes, heart attacks, pulmonary disease and other debilitating illnesses; and offering a variety of six-week player development clinics for new golfers on basic skills and on-course experiences covering etiquette, speed of play and USGA rules.
In February 2001, Diane was chosen as one of 50 Top Teachers by GOLF FOR WOMEN magazine. She is listed by GOLF Magazine among the best U.S. instructors and named one of best teachers in North Carolina by GOLF DIGEST. She was chosen as the LPGA National Teacher of the Year in 1997 at the National Seminar presented by Golf for Women Magazine. This award established in 1958, is the oldest of the LPGA T&CP Division's awards. It is annually presented to the LPGA teaching professional who has best exemplified her profession during the year.
