Starting his professional career in 1988, John McMahon
discovered his love of teaching while serving for nine years on the professional staff at
Palmetto Dunes Resort on Hilton Head. He was first assistant at this Robert Trent Jones
course from 1993 to 1997. After seven years of developing a successful teaching approach
he took his ideas to the next level, and John
McMahon's Golf School was founded in October of 1997 at the Old Carolina Golf Club,
located close to Hilton Head Island.
Playing on the golf team at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte for three years, gave him the experience to eventually play successfully on the Mini Tour from 1993 and 1994.
John offers one, two and three day golf schools, private and playing lessons, corporate outings and a number of special services, including equipment buying advice.
