Vicki
Phillips has been involved with golf since her childhood in Southern California
where she participated in junior programs. After a ten-year layoff, she returned to golf
and played the mini tour for two years before discovering her love for teaching the game.
Vicki was selected as one of the "Top 50 Instructors" in 2002 and 2003
by GOLF FOR WOMEN magazine.
Joining the LPGA in 1987, she has been active ever since. Vicki completed all required NIKE LPGA Teaching Schools in her first three years. She has completed the Square Two Club Fitting School and Swing Model Workshops. Fulfilling her Class A status in 1992, she became a leader in her Section as an Evaluator and Member Advisor as well as serving as Treasurer. She hosted the 1997 NE Section Championship, and continues to lead by involving herself in and speaking at LPGA National Seminars. She is a Past President of the Northeast Section of the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Division,
Vicki contributes her skills as an instructor
for the LPGA National Education Program Series, which is a three level research
based education program for teaching a student centered model of instruction to
LPGA Teaching Professionals and other golf professionals in the industry. She
also taught at LPGA Teaching School II,
Women in Golf Summit, Gillette LPGA Women's Clinic, National Golf Foundation workshops,
and the Crayola LPGA Junior Golf Clinics held in Washington DC, Denver and Delaware. She
has contributed as a writer for Tee-Time
Magazine.
As a player, Vicki captured the National Senior Champion title at the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Championship. She has played in many other national and section events, including the 1994 and 1997 LPGA National Championship. She placed 3rd in the 1998 NE Section Florida Winter Pro-Am Tournament, 3rd respectively in the 1997 Bermuda Easter Lily Tournament, the Bermuda Ladies Pro-Am Golf Classic, and the Square Two LPGA Team Classic.
In 1992, Vicki received her certification at the 1st level in Reiki Healing. She has completed basic massage school, and completed level 3 of Zero Balance Body Work. She continues her study of personal training for enhanced performance and injury prevention. This study includes nutrition, vision training, physical conditioning using "Active Isolated" stretching and mental techniques used by Dr. Durlacher for mental stability enhanced performance.
Vicki served as the Director of Golf and was a teaching professional for seven years at Night Hawk Golf Center in Gambrills (MD), and currently teaches at the Everybody Golf School located at the Oakmarr Golf Complex, teaching groups and individuals four to eighty years old.
